The Enhanced Access Service at Spa Medical Centre (SE16 4BL) is an extension of your GP practice providing GP and nurse appointments for patients in north Southwark.
GP practices in north Southwark are working together to deliver extra appointments to see patients face-to-face. Any doctor or nurse you see at the Enhanced Access Service has full access to your healthcare record to ensure they can offer the right treatment.

What do we offer?
The Enhanced Access Service currently offers three services:
GP appointments
The Enhanced Access Service offers appointments for conditions that require a same-day or next day appointment and there are no appointments available at your regular GP practice. We have GP appointments available Monday – Saturday 8am – 8pm, and Sunday 8am – 4pm.
Your GP practice or 111 can book you an appointment, if needed, after an online/telephone consultation.
Nurse appointments
Routine nursing appointments are available at the Enhanced Access Service throughout the week.
A list of the services offered are:
- Cervical smears
- Childhood immunisations
- Typhoid and tetanus vaccinations for travel
- Pertussis vaccinations for pregnant women
- Ear irrigation
- Wound care
- NHS healthchecks
- Hypertension reviews
Contraception appointments
This is a service offering the fitting/removal of contraceptive implants and coil fittings.
You can call the service directly on 020 3883 1620 for an initial telephone consultation or contact your surgery for further details.
First Contact Physiotherapist appointments (FCP)
After a referral from your GP surgery we can offer appointments with a Senior Physiotherapist for adults to be seen for an initial consultation for all musculoskeletal conditions.
111 appointments
When your practice is closed you can still get support. You can get expert medical advice and useful information by calling NHS 111 or through 111 online. The NHS service is available 24 hours a day and can provide patient information, issue prescriptions to a pharmacy of your choice, book an appointment at your GP practice or at the Enhanced Access Service.

If you have booked an appointment at the Enhanced Access Service via your GP practice or NHS 111 and need to change or cancel your appointment, please contact the Enhanced Access Service reception on 020 3883 1620. Please note, we cannot book an initial appointment for you via the Enhanced Access Service reception, only your GP or NHS 111 can do this.
